Golf Cart Bridge
You
may have noticed that the golf cart bridge to the range and 10 Tee is not as
noisy as it had been. Additional bolts
were added to the wooden members that attach to the bridge frame. Also, a neoprene layer was inserted between
the bolts and the frame to cushion the impact of the carts on the bridge and
reduce the sound produced.
Proposed
Changes to Fees at Shoreline Golf Links
Staff
proposed a few changes to the fees at Shoreline Golf Links. These proposals were discussed with the
Advisory Greens Committee (AGC) at the Tuesday, January 23 meeting. The AGC felt the proposals were appropriate
and reasonable. The Parks and
Recreation Commission reviewed the proposals at its February 14 meeting and is
recommending City Council approval.
Proposed
is an increase in golf cart rental from $22 to $24, back nine $15 to $17 and
member club single rider from $11 to $12.
The fee for golf carts has been in place since 1998, is lower than all
other courses surveyed and the carts themselves are in excellent
condition. Also, concerning golf
lessons, increases to those classes where fees do not cover expenses has been
proposed. A temporary decrease in green
fees for Fridays is also proposed.
Green fees for seniors, twilight and super twilight categories were also
reviewed but no increases proposed.
The City
Council will review the recommendations as part of the City’s budget process
for 2007-08. If you would like more
information, a copy of the staff report presented to the PRC or a notice of the
meeting date the Council will review the fee proposals, please contact Paula
Bettencourt. Her email is paula.bettencourt@ci.mtnview.ca.us. Her telephone number is 650-903-6076.
