Minutes of Meeting held
on NOVEMBER 18, 2008

Absent:
1. Goose and Coot Management Update
Jack gave an update on the wildlife management efforts at Shoreline. The water levels in ponds one, two and three are as low as they can go and will remain so until a decision is made on the long term plan regarding coots and geese at Shoreline.
Jack discussed with the
committee information regarding a meeting that will be held on Thursday,
December 4, 2008 at the Rengstorff House to discuss opportunities for
collaboration amongst local agencies to lessen the Resident Canada Geese
population on the Peninsula and

Jack reported that on Friday, December 5, the Shoreline Golf
Links Pro Shop will be hosting the annual Twelve Hour Holiday Sale. Excluding some Ping, Callaway, Titleist and
Cobra products, all regularly priced merchandise will be at least 20% off. (The 20% discount for golf balls is on the
golf ball sleeve price.) Club members
will receive a flyer/coupon for an additional 5% off, making for some great
savings. One day Manager’s Special will
also be offered. The Pro Shop will be
open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the sale.
This is a perfect opportunity to choose gifts for friends and family in
a stress-free, relaxed setting. Golf
Professionals will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about
clubs, shoes, apparel or accessories.

3. Course Updates
Jack mentioned that the bridge on hole four was delayed the week of November 3, due to wet conditions. They were going to try again this Thursday, but due to wet conditions will delay the installation until conditions improve. Most of the work will be done at night so detours for players will be minimal.
Jack reminded the committee about the Thanksgiving Day Shotgun which will be held Thursday, November 27 at 8:30 a.m. Stop by the Pro Shop to pay and reserve your spot.
4. Superintendent’s Update
Steve mentioned that the fences have been successful around the greens and his crews will be installing additional fence along the 9th fairway. The maintenance staff will be working to improve the drainage on the course.
Jack gave an update regarding the possibility of reducing the number of bunkers on the course, leveling of tee boxes and renovation of the driving range. All three projects will be submitted for approval as part of the City’s Annual Capital Improvement Program.
5. Questions from Committee Members
Vic mentioned that he played the front nine in the afternoon recently and the greens were bumpy. Steve explained that the Poa annua in the greens pops in the afternoons and can make the greens bumpy. Steve also reported that the greens are rolled twice a week.

on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. in the Golf Course Conference Room.
