golf course and the turfed areas of Shoreline at
The City has also attained the services of the environmental consulting firm of Jones and Stokes to provide a constraint analysis and cost estimate for a nuisance bird management program at Shoreline Golf Links. Jones and Stokes will work with City Staff and outside agencies such as golf courses and regulatory agencies to review existing information, identify potential management practices, develop a constraints analysis for each and recommend a policy/program recommendation for the City to adopt with respect to nuisance birds at Shoreline Golf Links.
Superintendent’s Update:
Steve advised the Committee that aerification has taken place on most fairways and tee boxes. The cart path for the 13th hole has been completed. The installation of the Bridge at hole 4 has not been scheduled. Steve also mentioned that dirt has been brought in to fill a low spot between10 and 11. Work continues on the bank stabilization project along the tenth fairway. It is going well and the small hills along the 10th fairway will be hydro seeded. The greens have been rolled and will be top dressed soon.
Questions from Committee Members:
Jim asked if the 18th green is sinking. Steve said it could be, but he has not noticed it.
Harry asked when new sand will be put in traps. Steve told the committee that he try’s to do 10-15 traps per year because of the expense.
The Committee members told Steve how well the course is looking and thanked him.
