Jack mentioned that the twilight start time changed on 8/15 to 3pm and Super Twilight starts at 5pm.
2. Pro Shop Update
Jack reminded everyone about the End of Summer Sale! Beginning August 29th through September 9th, all bags, caps, visors and apparel will be 25% off. All other merchandise will be 10% off for general public, but 15% off for club-members. Stop by and see what is available.

available in the Pro-shop in the Pro-shop

4. Shoreline at
Jack
discussed the 25th Anniversary of Shoreline at
On Sunday,
September 28 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, make plans to attend the Shoreline 25th
Anniversary event, celebrating all the 750-acre wildlife and recreation area
has to offer. Music by the seven-piece "little big band,
"Wally's Swing World, will be available at the Sailing Lake Activities
Area from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. For additional information about all of the
activities, including children's activities, additional Environmental Docent
walks, a bicycle ride, golf tournament/putting activities, box lunches and
other offerings by Michaels at Shoreline and the
5. Shoreline Golf Links’ Volunteers – Complimentary Golf
Jack presented information from a report that has been repaired for the Parks and Recreation Commission regarding the new volunteer policy regarding complementary golf. There were 365 fewer volunteer rounds from January –June 2008 than the same period of 2007. Two volunteers resigned due to the new policy and there are 5 fewer volunteers this year than what there was last year at this time. The report calls for no changes to the program at this time.
6. Friday Rounds
Jack informed the committee that a report regarding Friday Rounds is being prepared comparing, rounds played on Fridays, revenue for Fridays from the range, retail and rentals and all paid rounds over the last couple of years. The report will be given to the committee for review when it is complete.
7. Goose and Coot Management Update
Jack mentioned that the City is in the
process of purchasing the Goose Poop Remover and that some positive comments
regarding Losee’s Gosse control have been received. Jack also brought up that
there will be a meeting of City staff to discuss the Jones and Stokes report
next week. The committee will be given a report at its next meeting.
8. Superintendent’s Update
Steve mentioned to the committee that
there has been some pump issues that have created some wet spots on the course.
He is working with Pumps and Wells staff to determine the issues that need to
be corrected. The crews will be verticutting and top dressing the greens this
week.
9. Questions from Committee Members
Jim mentioned that at the match play
tournament that there were a few comments regarding bumpy greens. Harry
mentioned that there was some sort of confusion regarding the ladies shotgun on
Tuesday as to who could play prior to the shot gun going off. Jack talked to
Joe and found out that a foursome that had signed up on line prior to the date
being blocked off were allowed to play and that the pro shop allowed some
regular players to play nine holes which was in appropriate.
The September meeting will be moved to 9/23.
