When you have taken the maximum number of strokes on a hole that is allowed for your handicap under the (ESC) please pick-up and record the score that you most likely would have made. The others in your group will be able to help you ascertain that score. If the player records his "most likely score" in a tournament he is not penalized, but must record an adjusted score on posting. The United States Golf Association recommends that if a player does not finish a hole or is conceded a stroke, the player shall record the "most likely score". The most likely score consists of the number of strokes already taken plus, in his best judgement,the number of strokes that the player would need to complete the hole from that position more than half the time. For example, a player lies five when he picks up on the green. The player will record a score of five plus the number of putts the player thinks he or she would have taken. This "most likely score" is subject to reduction under the Equitable Stroke Control(ESC)procedure. For example, a player may record a "most likely score" of eight, but if the players Equitable Stroke Control maximum is seven, then seven is the score that shall be turned in for handicap purposes.

Play ready golf. Be ready to hit when it is your turn or not playing out of turn is OK;

Park your carts, pull carts, bags, clubs, etc at the back of the green so that when you hole out you will be exiting toward the next tee and not back into the just played fairway

As soon as two players have finished a hole they should proceed to the next tee and hit their tee shots, they can then record their scores

If you sharing a cart you should drop off one player and proceed to the other players ball, you can always pick-up each other after you both hit

When you play a stroke make sure at least one other player is watching to help follow the flight of the ball.

There are most likely many other “small” things that we can all do to maintain an even flow that we tend to forget, please share other things that you practice that will help us all achieve our ultimate goal of 4:30 rounds by everyone. We all have the responsibility and obligation to our members and Shoreline Golf Course management to make it work. IF EACH PLAYER IN A FOURSOME COULD SAVE 15-SECONDS PER HOLE FOR A TOTAL OF 1-MINUTE PER FOURSOME WE WOULD LOWER OUR TOTAL TIME OF PLAY FOR 18-HOLES BY 18-MINUTES.
